LIMA TO NAZCA CULINARY TOUR
FOODS AND WINES FROM LIMA, ICA, PISCO, & NAZCA
DAY 1: LIMA – NAZCA
You leave Lima early in the morning by private shuttle to make your way down the Pacific Coast to the beautiful town of Nazca. This is a 7-8 hour journey and along the way, you travel through Peru’s desert, and the towns of Asia, Paracas, Ica, and Pisco. For lunch, you stop in the village of Pisco for an authentic Peruvian lunch. In the evening, you have free time to explore the town of Nazca and sample the local fare.
Day 2 begins around 10:00AM with a flight over the legendary and mysterious Nazca Lines. Flights are on modern 4-6 person aircraft (transfers included). The flight takes approximately 35-40 minutes to view the lines. Lunch is another introduction to XXX food from the Nazca region. In the evening, you have the option of free time or enjoying an amateur planetarium a star gazing.
Nazca – Ica—Before heading for Lima, you visit some interesting sites around the Nazca area including Cahuachi, Acueductos, Paredones which all provide a range of history dating back from the Pre-Incan times, to the Incan Civilization.Chauchillas (Cemetery), Temple of Stairs (Templo del Escalonado); 40 adobe mounds and structures.
From Naza, you travel back north to the city of Ica. The evening is free to explore and relax at the hotel.
DAY 3: ICA WINE TOUR
During your first day in Ica, the tour visits a winery is a very special stop at one of Ica’s largest “bodega wineries” where the wine is homemade and visitors dip into the clay wine vats on a semi-guided tour—lots of fun!and a pisco producer. There is lots of wine and pisco tasting and lunch is a gourmet affair at the winery’s onsite restaurant. After lunch, there
DAY 4: ICA WINE & PISCO TOUR
The second day in Ica, includes a pisco producer and another winery. Lunch is at the onsite restaurants at the winery. You will then return to your hotel in the evening and have free time.
DAY 5: LIMA – ICA
At approximately 10:00am you head back to the city of Lima. Today is mostly a rest day and time to relax in your hotel or head out and enjoy all the restaurants in Lima. Your guide provides you with a list of our Top 10 recommendations.
DAY 6: LIMA
The final day begins with a guided market tour where you learn about all the fruits, vegetables, and meats, and herbs of Peru. From there, you head to the cooking school where you spend the next 3-4 hours learning to cook your own Peruvian food! The chef walks you through everything as you cook yourself a 3-course lunch! More than likely, there’s wine from Ica to be opened and great views from the school’s rooftop terrace. o Here you will have a lunch-time cooking class on the rooftop terrace with a great view over Lima!
The evening is free to visit more restaurants of your choosing or those we recommend on our Top 10 list.
