The campus in Manuel Antonio is centered around our open-air institute, which sits on top of a small mountain and overlooks the clear, blue waters of the Pacific coast. Your homebase is amidst the natural beauty of the rainforest and white sand beaches that only Costa Rica can offer! Enjoy free WiFi and the onsite snack bar, or head to the beach and go snorkeling just a few minutes away by bus or on foot.

Join Sunshine Mafia and help build and beautify community centers, schools, and assisted living facilities. The (light) construction program is led by Maximo Nivel’s professional local foremen in Manuel Antonio. He’ll lead and teach you how to build, cut, mix, paint, and install… how to truly help a community! You’ll help make a real impact at projects for people who truly appreciate your efforts.
Every day, you’ll be immersed in the Pura Vida vibe while participating in a variety of activities around the beach towns of Manuel Antonio and Quepos. You’ll learn about the history and culture of Costa Rica and experience first-hand the country’s amazing people and vast natural resources! Monday through Friday you’ll wake up and have breakfast with your host family before heading to the group construction project, where you’ll assist with painting, gardening, and light construction at a local school or community center.
EXPLORE & LEARN SPANISH
During your time in Manuel Antonio you’ll have lots of opportunities to enjoy the ocean with scuba, surfing, snorkeling, body boarding, and more; or stick to land and explore the Manuel Antonio National Park, fly through the jungle with the exhilarating zipline experience, or go white water rafting. As experts on Costa Rica, the Maximo Nivel team can answer any questions. Travel plans are easy to arrange through their on-site travel partner.
You can also decide to join a Spanish immersion experience. Monday through Friday you’ll take part in a 2-hour Spanish class with Maximo Nivel’s professional Spanish teachers. Group classes are offered at all levels, basic through advanced. Groups are formed based on your results on the free Spanish placement exam taken upon your arrival.
