Volunteer in Amazon Reforestation
Peru’s Amazon Jungle is one of the most biologically diverse areas of the world. Unfortunately it is constantly shrinking due to human encroachment and the exploitation of its natural resources.
Maximo Nivel’s Jungle Conservation programs are located in the Amazon Rainforest of Peru. The natural equilibrium of the Amazon’s ecosystems needs to be protected and you can be part of it. The Amazon Rainforest is the best known rainforest in the world and many people simply take it for granted that it will always be there. However, without vital research and conservation efforts on the ground, the rainforest would be disappearing at an even faster rate than it is already.
It’s important to understand that the Amazon Rainforest is one of last primary forests in the world. As opposed to secondary forest, a primary (or virgin) forest means that the area has not been touched by man and the species that live in the forest are native to the area. This means the ecosystem is unique and cannot be reproduced by man. Many species would disappear if their natural habitat disappeared and that is why your efforts are so vital to the preservation of this unique area.
What will you do as a Jungle Conservation Volunteer?

Reforestation, organic gardening, wildlife and animal monitoring, trail maintenance, and educational workshops for local communities. Wildlife inventories include observing and counting various species of birds, insects (e.g. butterflies), amphibians, and primates.
