Visit Maximo Nivel Campuses in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru
3 – 16 January 2027

University leaders, study abroad professionals, and faculty are invited to a special familiarization tour of Maximo Nivel’s institutes and campuses in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru. We provide airport pick up, accommodations, meals, and transportation while in country. Learn about our programs: Study Abroad, International Internships, Service Learning, Spanish Immersion, TEFL Certification, and more. The itinerary includes fully-guided campus tours and visits to project sites, as well as important cultural excursions such as Machu Picchu, Manuel Antonio National Park, and Lake Atitlan. This program is hosted by Tim Angle, Director of University Relations, Andrew Sieving, Assistant Director, University Relations, and Maximo Nivel’s Country Managers.

Peru: 3-8 January 2027

Sunday, 3 January 2027 – Arrival Day – Lima, Peru
– Arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru (LIM)
– Peru flight may require overnight in Lima or land in Cusco same day.
– Overnight in Lima (depends on individual flights)
– You will NOT be met by a Maximo Nivel representative in Lima.
– Recommended hotel is Wyndham Costa del Sol at Lima Airport.

Monday, 4 January 2027 – Arrival Day – Cusco, Peru
– Arrival in Cusco, Peru (Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, CUZ)
– A Maximo Nivel representative will meet you at the airport—they will have a yellow, smiley face flag :)
– Transfer to Cusco center and Maximo Nivel institute tour
– Presentation by Ken Jones, President
– Drop off at hotel
– 6:30 PM – 6:45 PM pick up at hotel
– Welcome Dinner
– Drop off at hotel after dinner

Tuesday, 5 January 2027 – Cusco, Peru
– Breakfast at hotel
– 7:45 AM pick up at hotel
– 8:00 AM walking tour
– 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM Service Learning, Internship, & student accommodation site visits (lunch included)
Special visit to Andean Indigenous Community project site
– 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM Machu Picchu pre-departure briefing
– Drop off at hotel
– Dinner (on your own)
– Free evening

Wednesday, 6 January 2027 – Machu Picchu*
– 10:00 AM private transfer to Ollantaytambo
– Train to Aguas Calientes
– 12:30 PM arrival in Aguas Calientes
– Drop off at hotel
– 7:00 PM dinner at hotel (paid by Maximo Nivel)
– Free evening

Thursday, 7 January 2027 – Machu Picchu*
– 7:45 AM pick up at hotel
– Machu Picchu guided tour
– Lunch (on your own) in Aguas Calientes
– Train to Ollantaytambo & transfer to Cusco
– Drop off at hotel
– Dinner (on your own)
– Free evening
– Book flights anytime on Friday, but not for Thursday night.

Friday, 8 January 2027 – Departure Day – Peru
– Breakfast at hotel
– Transfer to Cusco airport
– Travel back home or onward to San Jose, Costa Rica
– Each participant must organize their own flight

Saturday, 9 January 2027 – Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica
– Breakfast at hotel
– 8:00 AM private transfer to Manuel Antonio
– Drop off at hotel
– 1:20 PM Sailing Tour, Pacific Ocean (late lunch included)
– Drop off at hotel
– Dinner (on your own)
– Free evening

Sunday, 10 January 2027 – Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

– 8:30 AM check out of hotel
– 9:00 AM pick up at hotel
